We went to the diner just to try the famous fluffy buttermilk pancakes and they were awesome. The menu is pretty extensive and they are open to customizations. They also have a nice outdoor seating serviced by a food truck which is an extension of the main kitchen. The whole scene was pretty bustling. Great service too.

You cannot visit the Catskills without a visit to the Phoenecia Diner. The atmosphere, service, and delicious menu prove to be a real treat! We arrived on a Friday before holiday weekend around 10am and had a 10-minute wait. We were immediately greeted by our sever, offered water and coffee and placed our order. We ordered the Full Phoenecia Breakfast and the Arnold Bennett Skillet. Both were fantastic, along with the coffee. This is a staple of the area and it fulfills the expectations.

This is legitimately one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. It doesn't matter what you order on the menu, it will blow away your expectations. It's so rare that a restaurant cares enough to produce consistently great food and service, and honestly I can't even think off the top of my head any restaurant besides Phoenicia that pulls it off. I personally love going with the omelette and pancakes, while my gf changes her order up every time. Last time we went she ordered the burger and said it was the best burger she'd ever had. We can't rave enough about this place!

Yum yum yum yum yum!! Had brunch here on a rainy Saturday and loved every morsel! The place was packed at around 10:30 am and we waited maybe 15 min for a table. Our server was fantastic - efficient, friendly, knowledgable and almost able to read our minds when we needed something. Food was excellent! The whole menu was fantastic, as were the specials, and it was hard to choose. We went with: -- Mt. Tremper omelet, with spinach and cheese, which our friend said was the best she had ever had; -- The cauliflower soup special - friend said it was perfectly seasoned with great consistency -- the scout salad special with fiddleheads - it was huge and was easily split by 4 people -- the asparagus, cheddar and bacon stuffed hash browns with English muffin and 2 poached eggs - very rich and a huge portion; poached eggs were perfection and the only slight disappointment was the muffin which was very lightly toasted and not really crisp how I like it -- the Arnold Bennet skillet - probably the best dish of the table - savory, salty, well balanced, scrumptious -- the full Phoenicia breakfast -- a chocolate milkshake - hello! Decadent! -- a specialty cold brew latte We enjoyed the food so much we considered going back again for dinner but at 5 pm when they closed we were all still full from brunch! We will definitely go back and will wait as long as we have to...pancakes or waffles will be required next time, as we were taunted by everyone around us getting plates for their tables. Highly recommend!

Stopped in to the Phoenicia Diner on our first trip to the Catskills and it hit the spot before a day spent exploring outdoors. The vibe was just what we were looking for - all things vintage and modern at the same time. They even have a cute outdoor area with a vintage Airstream, but it was a bit too chilly to sit outside during this visit. Our waitress Susie was super sweet and on top of it! We ordered two Bloody Marys (delish) and I got the chorizo omelette (forget the official name) and my boyfriend got the mushroom eggs benny and we both opted for the home fries. Both were large portions and super tasty! Wish we had more days in the area as we would have come here more than once and look forward to coming back the next time we're in the area.

I went to Phoenicia Diner when road tripping with friends from Ithaca, NY to Craryville, NY/Catskills, NY. This diner is a bit out of the way but overall would definitely recommend trying it. We ordered the Farmers' Skillet which was nothing special. I thought the vegetables could have been more seasoned and the dish could have had more flavor. It wasn't bad but at times I thought the potatoes and onions could feel a bit oily/greasy. I also thought the zucchini and squash got a bit mushy under the egg. But PLEASE do yourself a favor (!!!!) and order their Buttermilk Pancakes. These are legitimately the best pancakes I have ever had in my life. The pancakes are perfectly fluffy, thick, and sweet. When paired with a pad of salty butter, local maple syrup, and fruit... it's literally a perfect bite. I can't even explain why these pancakes are so good. You will just have to trust me on this one. Also be prepared to wait, this diner is very popular and on smaller/medium-sized. The interior was so cute and felt very "small town" and "upstate." I would come back. Just for the pancakes.

Cash discount of 3.5% Came back here twice in 3 days at off hours during the weekdays and there were plenty of seats (2pm and 4pm). The Arnold skillet was as good as when I had it the first time. Runny and creamy eggs with the bits of smoked trout adding so much flavor. I got the rye toast and not much favorite, but it does the trick (a little too burnt perhaps). They had a special of the Carne asada Mac and cheese burrito that was so good we got it twice. The meat was more tender than most steak I've had and the burrito was seasoned so well. The fries weren't good though - soggy and relatively flavorless, so we got the greens as a side. I also tried the blood sausage as a side and this was nicely seasoned and not too iron-forward if you want to try blood sausages but are not scared too. We had the apple Cider (on the sweeter side for sure but nicely spiced) and the fruition hot chocolate (they say dark chocolate but it's not super deep but not so sweet).

For us, Phoenicia Diner always feels like a very New York thing to do, if you live in NY state. The setup is truly diner style, and a fairly welcoming staff as well. One thing we absolutely don't like about this place though, is the extremely long wait times. Be prepared to wait at least for 45-mins if you are a group larger than 3. After waiting for close to an hour, when we finally got seated, service was excellent. A very warm and friendly staff took our order which included an excellent IPA from nearby West Kill Brewing - Bury the Hatchet. If you like Hazy IPAs - look no more and get this one! For mains, I got an excellent Veggie Reuben Sandwich ($17) which was packed with flavor! This is a kid friendly establishment, with excellent service, and food arrived within 25 minutes of ordering. If only they can somehow reduce their wait-times, it'd be a perfect five for us!

We've been here a few times and it always hits the spot. There's usually a wait but they have a whole room with tables, seats, and games to play while ho wait. You can get beer or coffee during the wait which makes the time pass by quickly. I love the pancakes here. They are perfectly fluffy and come with fresh fruit and maple syrup. We got the seasonal special of apple cider pancakes which were perfectly spiced. The trout po boy was also delicious. It was well fried and crispy and we opted for a side salad to balance it out. The place is great and worth the wait
